Patriot enables insurance companies to dissuade fraudulent claims. This is achieved by providing the insurer with the ability to report stolen property directly to the UK Police systems on behalf of the claimant rather than having to rely on notification from the customer that it has been reported.
Claimants still in possession of the goods may perpetrate further insurance fraud, as they wish to retain the use of the goods or sell them.
Second hand & Police national databases
Flagging them on the Police national system and CheckMEND via Patriot is a strong deterrent as the chances of being caught in possession of stolen goods is now greatly increased.
The system also flags the items as stolen on CheckMEND, the second hand trade and publicly checkable due diligence system.
