• Has a check been run on an item by another insurer
• Has another insurer paid out on the item
• Is there a crime reference logged on the system against the item
• If the item is a mobile phone has it been blocked by the networks
• If the item is a mobile phone is the make and model correct
• Has the checking insurer already paid out on the item in the past
